Storage
Cardamom pods have to be kept in an airtight container away from direct sunlight. Make sure that the pods do not have any moisture before storage, as this will cause the pods to rot. For long-term storage, it is advised that polythene-lined jute bags are used to preserve the green coloration of the cardamom pods.

How to select
The Cardamom pods have to be bright green in color and seeds are dark brown. The aroma of ripe cardamom pods must be savory and sweet, with a little hint of citrus.

Packaging
Cardamoms are packed in 40kg master cartons that contain 8 small cartons weighing in at 5kg each.

Shipment
Master cartons are loaded in a 20-foot container. Each container can hold approximately 300 master cartons, which are equivalent to 12 metric tons.
